§ 1 Information on the collection of personal data

(1) Below we set out how we collect your personal data when you use our website. Personal data is any data that can be used to personally identify you, such as name, address, email addresses or user behaviour.

(3) When you contact us by email, the data you provide (your name and email address) will be stored by us in order to answer your questions. The processing is carried out on the basis of a legitimate interest (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR). If you provide further data (first name, company, subject, telephone number), this information is provided voluntarily with your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). If you contact us to request a quote, the data will be processed to carry out pre-contractual measures (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR). We delete the data arising in this context once storage is no longer necessary or restrict processing if statutory retention obligations apply.


(4) If you contact us by telephone, your enquiry, including all personal data involved (name, enquiry), will be stored and processed by us for the purposes of processing your request. We will not pass on this data without your consent. This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR if your enquiry is related to the fulfilment of a contract or is necessary for the fulfilment of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, the processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective processing of enquiries addressed to us (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR) or based on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR) if this has been requested. The data you send to us via contact requests will remain with us until you ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent to storage or the purpose of the data storage no longer applies (e.g. after your request has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions - in particular statutory retention periods - remain unaffected by this.


(5) If we engage service providers for individual elements of our offer or would like to use your data for advertising purposes, we will inform you in detail below about the respective processes. We will also state the specified storage period criteria.If and insofar as you have given us your consent for marketing and advertising purposes, the data processing required in the context of establishing contact takes place on the legal basis of your consent, Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR or our legitimate interest, Art. 6 (1)(f).


§ 2 Your rights

(1) You have the following rights in relation to us with regard to your personal data:

(2) You also have the right to lodge a complaint about our processing of your personal data with our supervisory authority, the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information for North Rhine-Westphalia, Kavallierstr. 2-4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany. In the UK, this authority is the Information Commitioner’s Office (ICO).

§ 3 Collection of personal data when visiting our website

(1) When using our website for information purposes only, i.e. without registering or otherwise providing us with information, we only collect the personal data that your browser sends to our server. If you wish to view our website, we collect the following data, which is technically necessary for us to display our website to you and to ensure stability and security (legal basis: Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR)):

(2) Our website does not use cookies. Therefore, in addition to the data mentioned above, no cookies are stored on your computer when you use our website.


§ 4 Further functions of our website, products, conclusion of contract

(1) In addition to the use of our website purely for information purposes, we also offer various services that you can use if you are interested. To do so, you may have to submit additional personal data that we use to provide the respective service and for which the aforementioned data processing principles apply. Specifically, we currently offer the following goods and services:

We offer consumers online access to an unlimited number of e-books, which are made available on our website www.Eforybooks.uk, as part of a paid subscription.

(2) In some cases, we use external service providers to process your data. These have been carefully selected and engaged by us, are bound by our instructions and are regularly monitored. We pass on the data to our processors as part of our activities. In particular this includes the company M&P Customer Care GmbH, Nikolaus-Dürkopp-Straße 14-16, 33602 Bielefeld, Germany.

(3) We may also pass on your personal data to third parties if we offer participation in promotions, the conclusion of contracts or similar services together with partners.

(4) If our service providers or partners are based in a country outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom, we will inform you of the consequences of this circumstance in the description of the offer.

Declaration of consent:

You agree that we may process your data (title, first name, surname, street, house number, postcode, city, date of birth, bank details) and use it for the purposes of implementing the contract and carrying out the direct debit procedure. Giving your consent is voluntary. You can informally object to the use of your data at any time. This will not involve any costs other than the transmission costs according to basic tariffs. The withdrawal of consent is only effective for the future and does not affect the legality of the data processing carried out up to the withdrawal. The legal basis for data processing is your consent, as per Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR.

§ 5 Objection to or withdrawal of consent for the processing of your data

(1) If you have given your consent to the processing of your data, you can withdraw it at any time. Such a withdrawal affects the permissibility of the processing of your personal data for the future after you have given it to us. The legality of the data processing carried out up to the time of withdrawal remains unaffected by the withdrawal.

(2) To the extent that we base the processing of your personal data on the balancing of interests, you can object to the processing. This is the case if, in particular, the processing is unnecessary for the fulfilment of a contract with you, described by us in the subsequent description of functions. When making such an objection, we ask that you explain the reasons why we should not process your personal data as we have done. § 6 Deletion

Whenever we collect or process your personal data, we’ll only keep it for as long as is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. In the case of contracts, we delete data after the statutory retention period has expired, i.e. after a period of three years beginning at the end of the year in which the claim arose in accordance with Section 195 of the German Civil Code (BGB). This is without prejudice to any longer periods provided for in legislation.
§ 7 No data analysis tools
Our website does not use any data analysis tools.
